What can I say about me... I'm a booklover who works as a librarian with Dublin Public Libraries, has gone through Cancer (Hodgkin's Lymphoma) and gotten an all-clear, happily married to grutok- with no children, lives in Dublin and would much rather be in Galway where I'm from.
I read, I read an awful lot, I clock up something in the area of 400 books per year. Some of it is when I commute and some of it is because I almost prefer to read than eat or almost anything else. I own lots of books, can borrow too many from the Library and fear losing my sight more than almost anything else in the world. My LibraryThing account - wyvernfriend as well - has all of my reviews. I try to keep my bookblog updated with reviews as well but sometimes I'm a bit lazy, also I can't access either LJ or Blogger from work so sometimes I forget when I get home.

ALL opinions, yes ALL, unless specifically stated, are MINE, all mine. Dublin City Council is my employer, my journals are my spaces. They've blocked access to them from work so occasionally work information has a convoluted route to my journal.
Why Wyvernfriend? The question a lot of people have asked me over the ages... back in the good/bad old days of VAX/VMS which I used in UCG (now NUIG) you could have a process name, maximum 15 characters. Mine started by someone deciding Daft was funny and then became Dragonfriend, this being a too obvious Anne McCaffrey referece - a Fan but not just a fan of McCaffrey - I ran through some other mythical beasts and liked Wyvernfriend the most. That was in 1989/1990 so I'm pretty much the original, I haven't come across any other! I've even used it at Con's!!
If you decide to 'Friend' me, email me or comment to me introducing yourself, just so I know who it is. You'll probably have to remind me where we met cause I'm incredibly lousy at names! No offence intended with all this.
